Overview

The 40.5kV modular prefabricated substation integrates electrical units such as transformers, multi-circuit high-voltage switchgear, reactive power compensation devices, insulated busbars, substation automation systems, communication systems, SCADA, metering, and DC power systems into a single, movable steel-structured enclosure. The enclosure is insulated, fire-resistant, theft-proof, moisture-proof, rodent-proof, fully enclosed with five-sided ventilation.

This solution is suitable for the construction or retrofit of 220kV medium and small-sized substations in urban and rural areas, as well as substations in industrial and mining enterprises. By positioning the substation close to the load center, it shortens the power supply radius and improves power quality. Especially ideal for urban power grid upgrades, this prefabricated model is regarded as a target construction solution for 21st-century substations. It meets the State Grid Corporation of China standards, new rural electrification standards, and implementation guidelines. It represents a shift from building a substation to buying a fully integrated one.

Product Features

• Compact Footprint:
  A conventional 40.5kV substation requires 8–10 mu (~5,300–6,700 m²), whereas the integrated intelligent substation version only occupies about 1.2 mu (~800 m²), saving 60%–80% of land and aligning with national land-saving policies.

• Cost-effective Production:
  Most electrical equipment is independently manufactured by our company, reducing costs. All devices are installed indoors, minimizing external environmental impact, reducing operating and maintenance costs. The all-metal enclosure is corrosion-resistant, requires minimal maintenance, and has a long lifespan with low energy consumption.

• Fast Deployment:
  Based on standardized, modular design, components such as incoming, outgoing, and transformer-protection modules can be quickly deployed. Construction cycle is shortened to 3 months (compared to over 12 months for traditional substations), realizing the concept of “buy a substation, not build one.”

• Environmentally Friendly:
  Minimal on-site work is required. Most construction occurs indoors, and all noise and electromagnetic radiation are contained within the metal shell. The metallic enclosure has a longer lifespan than brick-and-mortar structures and is fully recyclable.
